Down here in the South East they don't know what snow is, or how to grit, so on Wednesday I wound up with me TVR parked in the local village - can't get up the hill and the wife's car undriveable (Jag - no good in the snow) To the rescue came my 1988 two grand Range Rover, half rebuilt engine (the right half), clocked, probably done about 120,000 miles, regular MOT failure and tons of welding satisfactorily undertaken on corroded body.
Brilliant in the snow and then took me up the motorway all the way to Yorkshire and back, didn't miss a beat.
