performance upgrades?

Anyone tried any performance upgrade on their defenders? ie: bigger intercooler and chip package from jeremy fern or superchips, or perhaps the whole hog from essex turbos with a stage 2 upgrade to include bigger garret turbo and disco gears. There are loads out there and all appear to enhance the performance, some more aggresively than others. If i had the £1500 i think i would go for the upgrade package from essex turbos ( no affiliation ). I know it's not a sports car but wouldnt 74 mph in 3rd gear be fun in a defender? and cracking 120 (where legal)
