Has anyone else with a MK3 Rnage Rover experienced any problems with heavy steering.

I have very heavy steering, it is worse if I have been at motorway speeds and then drive slowly hrough town, it's as if the progressive part of the power steering system isn't going back to the lighter setting for town driving.

A land Rover technician has tested it and said it was fine, even though everyone in the dealership, including the dealer principle say it is unusually hard. They cannot carry warranty work out on the steering because LR tech say it is fine.

Anyone got sensible suggestions?

If you and the dealer think there may be a problem I'd suggest an independant check (even the AA or similar) then go back to the dealer and ask again.

Do you have standard wheels / tyres fitted?

I suppose you have done all of the simple fluid checks etc?

You could try bleeding the steering to eliminate any possible air locks affecting the power assistance!
