Fish speaking:

Got carried away with the Stage 1 duff up. Its now in component parts in the double garage with the chassis now being sand blasted ready for welding and painting. Then all i've got to do is put it back together, which I'm sure will take longer than the two days it took to take to peices.

I'll post some pictures at some point.

Any thoughts, oh and does anyone have a cheap 4speed rangie LT95 box, although I have a promising lead at the moment.

Keep it muddy

Edited by Mrs Fish to correct the spelling mistakes

and WHO will post some piccies up? the same one as who bought the film and took it to be developed thats who I tell you

Chassis would now appear to have had the rear made out of patchwork tissue paper. Now if I put a new chassis on it........

Oh yes, a new glavanised chassis would be fantastic, all hammerited and waxoyled up , they don't take up THAT much room

Should give her a new bill of health so she can last that much longer

Go for it, fish! You don't want to patch the chassis again in two years, do you?

I got mine a new galv. chassis too, as you can see on the second photo

He has found a two thirds chassis for a third of the price instead of a full chassis. So that is the latest plan

Go to frosts buy POR-15 and paint your chassis with that after welding, it'll never rust again!! Its the most potent stuff i have ever used...! Like hammerite on steroids without teh brittle nature so shouldn't flake off WHEN you take it off road....

Top dollar Mr Fish - landie looking good!

Bodo, nice work too - that your MG as well?

Well the half chassis he had sourced was a pile of crap, so he has now gone and ordered a brand new full one just waiting for it to be delivered now.

No, it's my barn-mates'. He started the restoration 1995, and decided to put an SD1 V8 in it and XJ12 brakes
He has just finished the restoration in June ... 2003
I've worked on the Landy from May 1997 to Nov.1999, so the Landy only stood alongside the MG for a short episode in his long restoration life
I blame the Alfa Romeo Montreal, Alfetta and Lotus Esprit projects, he started amongst other things during the MG restoration
I've visited him last weekend only to discover he bought an additional E-Type coupe, another Montreal and an Alfa 164 donor car. I should mention, that he had never bought a car that wasn't near the end of its lifecycle or otherwise a wreck
Sometimes, I have the impression he sometimes feels like 'Q' (from 007) in his workshop. Things got worse, when I left the barn, and he got hold of another 8.5m x 10m. Hence the Jag and the other Alfas.
Yes, he's studying mechanical engineering ... for six years now ... and his diploma topic will be "Converting a V8 engine with mechanical injection pump to full electronic control" with one of the Montreals (the running one, which he converted to 4x Weber 45 DCOE carbs not long ago). The other Monti (really only a pile of rust) will resurge as a Spyder according to his plans

Sorry for the long o/t post, but I had to get rid of this
