disco keeps running Shock..

Our K reg TDi has returned to its old tricks again, in that it ignores the ignition key, and continues to run when it's supposed to stop, we were stalling it at first, but i now find one good rev of the engine and twist key makes it stop, any ideas?

A friend's 205 did this. In his case it had an ignition operated cutoff valve which didn't. Cut off, that is, so it kept going.

Faulty stop solenoid, or crap connectors thereto?

I had the inverse of this problem with a diesel Escort, which refused to start.

The solenoid operates a fuel cut off valve to stop the motor.
