Offroad in Freelander
Discussion
i've tried many times, they're actually not that bad for the mud because they are fairly light in comparrison to a defender. However, the stock tyres are hopeless and grip is lost more through lack of travel and articulation than anything....plus needs more power.Good soft roader but compared to a Mitsi shogun,Toyota Prado, or even a Disco it just isn't in the same league.
I saw a trial with a Freelander been used and a 1985 subaru pick up beat it on every single section!Maybe that was the driver though

Best Land Rover for driving in sand due to their weight.
Get some of the Goodyears they used on the G4 Freelanders (MTR's IIRC) and you should be fine off road, only the ground clearance that is really a problem with the Freelander, this being solved easily with a suspension lift.
