TD5 To V8

Has anyone come across a company that could replace a TD5 oil burner for somthing with 8 cylinders and an apetite for optimax.

so far i've e-mailed overfinch....


p.s. anyone want a 2003 td5 lump with 3-5k miles on the clock?

whats wrong with the td5 lump then?Did you not like it or has that fly by wire throttle driven you mad.Swap it for a nas landy.Sorry,just most curious.

I suppose the only thing wrong with it is that its not a v8. the power delivery on the v8 is just so much better than a little turbo diesel.

it doesnt go that badly although you do have to rev it quite hard to get it to move.

JE reckon they can get it to 190 bhp with a chip and intercooler change which might be the place to start but it still wont give that v8 surge.


DOnt get me wrong i love the car but if only it was a v8. at the end of the day its only 8-10 mpg better so i carnt see the point. I had to buy a diesel as they dont do the commercial with a v8.



oh yeah an diesel is nazsty stuff if you get it on your hands...

There are a number of specialists that do this type of conversion.

There's a good outfit in Oxfordshire, Frogs Island 4x4, who have built a few V8 Landys with both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Speak to Fearny in Matlock for about £500 odd quid he can up your TD5 to 200odd bhp... one of the most respected TD5 tuners around, even dealers are now recommending him.
