Not buying a 4,2 LSEi with damage by hail (mentioned in another thread), my brother continued his search on a decent Range Rover. He found one, and we picked it up in Füssen, Bavaria near the Austrian border today

It's a 1994 3.9 SEi Vogue, black with dark brown interior and full options, one owner, who stored it in Füssen at her holiday house.

We then drove it to Frankfurt via Stuttgart, and I'm pretty amazed what value it has for money. When I press the accelerator, the engine doesn't scream, but the car starts making progress; and that quite fast and uninterupted for this type of creation . We've made fuel consumption tests on our journey, so Füssen...Stuttgart was the high speed passage (full throttle all the time) and Stuttgart...Frankfurt was the cruising section with constant 110-ish kph. First was 15.1 l/100km [18.7 mpg] and second was 11.4 l/100km [24.7 mpg], which is pretty low compared to Stage1 109s ( to fish ) IMHO.

Anyway, while driving the highspeed section and hence overtaking some cars, we thought the large Range Rover must appear like a big black wall moving alongside them to small car drivers.
So the Rangey already got his name: Die Schwarze Wand (The Black Wall).

If you hear me talking about a black wall moving in traffic in future, this thread should be the reference
