Hi guys,

I normally lurk in the TVR forum (thinking about buying a Tuscan) but I noticed this Land Rover forum (so hi!) and I wondered if any of you had any advice on tyres for Range Rovers?

I have a 4.6 HSE with 18inch wheels, and I need to replace all four tyres, which is an oportunity to change manufacturer if anyone thinkgs it's worth it?

Currently it's running on Pirelli Scorpion S/T 255/55/R18's. Do you guys think it's worth sticking with these (for mostly road use) or is there a better option these days?

Thanks!

Paul/Locki.

Hi Paul,

How much off roading do you do in the Rangie?

If it's just for on road use I'd stick with the ST's OR you could stick with Pirelli and try their Scorpion Zero's, they're a more road biased tyre, don't get me wrong the ST's are an on road tyre and are superb but the Zero's, as I said, are slightly more road biased with a more car tyre like tread.

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like the STs will be best for me.

No worries, IMO the ST's would be my choice and IIRC Overfinch use the Zeros and they'd get stuck in a cow pat

Going back a few years now, but on the really quick range rovers, they had a specially developed Avon tyre, which i think might have been for betleys or something originally. NAyway i can remember a few LRO articles on these overfinch type stormers being shod with these puppies.

Think they might jsut have handled a muddly grass car park too, but nothing really serious.
