Someone told me out of all the Land Rover ever made 70% are still on the road. Can't be ture can it?

Can't be, I've made one out of three - 33% on the road 
Bear in mind, that the 70%-statistics rely on that more Landrovers were built in the last 20 years, than in the first 30.

The first ever Land Rover built is still in on the roads today, so they don't have many quibbles with completely dying, I think it's entirely possible that 70% of Landy's are still about.Bodo said:

This is exactly what I like on Landrovers: they are built for the purpose, and you can dismantle the windows if you want
Been considering replacing my diesel Landy with a range rover (V8 tractor with air con), but service/repair costs put me off, you can fix most things on a landy with 1 spanner string and chewing gum, same can't be said for RR with a/c, abs, air suspension etc!
Both are great cars in their own way. More like comparing unix and linux than unix and windows!
