Hey - am I the last Land Rover person to discover that BF Goodrich is now a subsidiary of Michelin ?
That might explain why they've taken THE best compromise off-road / on-road tyre, permanently OFF-MARKET.(That'll be the Trac-edge, to anyone unfortunate enough not to have tried it.)
Why ?? It had no competition; the nearest was the Cooper Discoverer CTD which (according to my tyre supplier) had about half the life expextancy of the Trac-edge.
Madness.

I've just fitted a set of BFG All Terrains to my Defender, they are a pretty good all round tyre, not cheap but the first set did over 68,000 miles.
