When I was on Croisière Blanche (a randonne through the French alpes) with British participants a few years ago, I had the opportunity to see Chris Bashall's (from Surrey Off Road) 90 Tdi.
It had increased boost, and a watercooled turbocharger, when he pulled the key, the engine would still run until the charger's temperature was safe.
Looked funny to see a man locking the door and leaving his car with the engine still running
Anyway, he fitted an exhaust which sounded amazing for a 4cyl Diesel, and the engine had something just under 200hp
