2¼ Diesel engine verbuggert!
Discussion
Last Novemeber, my 4yr. old Turner-rebuilt Diesel lump gave the ghost up. I stopped after it made a rattleing noise and lost power.
Since then, I stored her in my parents garden (hadn't had the time to care for - uni, work, PH, ...).
End of July, I will investigate the cause of the engine's kaputness.
Anyone an idea where to look first? Main bearings? Injector nozzles?
Thanks, Bodo

Got her back last week, after a long time out of service. Work and study didn't allow a quicker progress
Anyway, Meister Rinkert checked the engine thoroughly, and found: nothing serious. One cylinder had a 23 compression, the others had between 26...28; where 25 is normal. He cleaned the injector nozzles, adjusted the valves, changed the oil, and did some usual inspection work around the car. I'm chuffed
five minutes after pick-up
Rinkert said, the engine rattle could have been caused by air in the Diesel system, since the engine runs absolutely smooth now, with no signs for damage to mechanical parts.
What a joy it is to have the remote controlled auxiliary heater!
Roll on, winter, roll on
