Not had any problems with the steering. Had no problems with the vehicle since I'v had it. It must be good I'v just sold it to my brother in-law

spoke to the garage earlier as they claim to have now remedied the vibration, and apparently its not unknown especially on the earlier versions to mine, that a combination of steering damper and tyres, can occasionally cause intermittent vibration, its not known what triggers it and (from my experience) it seems utterly random, anyway they've fitted new damper so we'll see how it goes. As an aside to yesterdays post, colllected the car from garage last night drove it home, and it won't turn off on the key, had to stall it again..
to be honnest, was against the grain to but anything made in UK in first place, as Dyson fell to pieces within a year of buying it, sort of puts you off a bit really, ho hum

Sorry to hear about your trouble with UK stuff. I only hope my new discovery was as good as my last one.
