RANGE ROVER DOOR SENSOR

My 1988 Range Rover has a problem when the door is shut - the sensor still thinks it is open!

Interior light stays illuminated and this confuses the alarm/immob.

Where is the sensor - I can't seem to find any switches etc on the door - is it electronic or something.

I would stick it into my dealer......don't fancy a two hundred quid bill though (that's the price they always charge to fix niggles).

Hello, just looked at my 91 Rangie, the switch is located on the A piller just below the windscreen, there should also be a relay below the sreeing column, this might be sticking causing the light to remain on.

.....Relays and sensors, used to run an old TVR - this all sounds too familiar to me.......
