Any one else here with a 101,or am i the only one.For me the 101 was the ultimate LandRover.Ever since i was a kid seeing them parked up in Chelsea barracks i wanted one.My own 101 is a veteran of gulf war 1.As a testement to the vehicles strenth,my one was attached to the Royal Artillery for the war.During a convoy from Kuwait in to southern Iraq, the lead vehicle hit a anti personel mine. The gunners stripped what they could from there vehicle and put it on to mine, including there 105mm field gun,and carried on for another 60 miles through the desert.A true test of strenth for the best ever LandRover ever made.

I'd quite like one actually, but only in Deep Bronze Green, and then only with a canvas tilt, which wouldn't make it a very practical vehicle. I doubt that MPG even makes it into double figures, does it?

So do I. Can't afford the running costs, and would rather burn that amount of fuel in a sportscar

Bought a 101 engine (because of the flat inlet manifold) to convert my 88", but cancelled the project because of a fuel price increase
Sold the engine to a German enthusiast, who reconverted his 101 Diesel to the original engine brave man!
