Interesting engine choice. TVR 4.0 240bhp.

Wonder what economy is like with the LPG.

If I had a spare £3500 I might be tempted.

In my old classic i had a TVR 4.0ltr.You have to change the cam though. The power comes in on the TVR a lot later as opposed to the RR where you need the power a lot lower down.It was intresting driving the RR around before i changed the cam.It was absolutley guttless around town.

You will have to change the cam though,as the profiles for a light sports car and a heavy 4x4 are different

Yep...all taken care of!
I fitted a 5.0 to a customers disco about 5 years ago...it was stunning.
Always wanted to do it ever since, and now I have the disco, and the 5.0 just not the time!

if you want power why not just fit a chevy LS1. you can get engine/gearbox combos for less than £2grand from the states, and an adaptor to the LT230 from Marks4wd in australia.

Much more power, much more reliablity, and lighter.

i used to be a committed RV8 chap until i fitted an LS1

The bowler wilcat uses a 300 bhp version of the 5.0 ltr lump but i bet its a fair bit lighter than a defender.

That sounds mighty impressive, I know just how hard it is to find that sort of donkey power with these lumps.
I was aiming for about 340 bhp and 365 lb/ft of torque, which should push it along quite nicely, but maybe I could squeeze a bit more from it!

Have you used the marks adapter? - have you any photo's of it?
