advice please - what is she worth?

Hello,

I have a 1988 E reg Defender 90 county 2.5 petrol in green that i am looking to sell. I am not a defender specialist, as I own TVR, Lotus etc as my regular drive so turn to you all for advice.

The defender is in great condition I think - road use only. I have it advertised on PH and has covered only 62k miles with all the MOTS. It has some rust on the doors, but nothing major.

Problem is I dont really know what it is worth. I have it advertised for £3k. Is this reasonable?

Any replies welcome.

Unless it's in mint nic 3k is well over the odds. IMO you might be able to get £1500-£1750.

Having looked at the adverton autotrader and here I'll change my mind to bluethunders quote. Have you tried sticking it on fleabay 72hr listing with a buy it now?

I think £1700 to £2000 is about right, at that age its all about condition and the actual mileage isnt important, the 4 cyl petrols are fairly rubbish and worth less than any other standard engine and even with road use only you would still expect some rust in the chassis/ bulkhead areas.
