L322's are becoming seriously affordable and we're not talking space shuttle mileage sheds either. Was just thinking what they'll be like to own for the average home enthusiasts... will basic diy servicing/minor repairs be completely out of the question?

No D.I.Y jobs on this im afraid, and parts prices are a joke.Take the alternator for example, water cooled and at £510 plus V.A.T not cheap by any standards.Compare that to a P38 at £160 then it becomes clearer that these are a lot more expensive to maintain than previous generations.

Rovacom are working hard to produce the necessary hard/software to communicate with the various ecus on the L322. I have their software instaled on my laptop to talk to all of the functions on my P38 and it's an invaluable tool when carrying out repairs.

The values mentioned above seem typical for cars with that many miles on the clock when buying from auction. I'm glad the early cars are becomming more reasonably priced because we're probably going to have one in the spring of next year and would rather not spend buckets of cash on something that'll get trashed by us using it!

Yeah, i bought my last P38 from brightwells auction for a silly price, the less said about it the better! It was "sold as seen", will never bid on a car with that in its description again! I'd say one with "no major mechanical faults" from one of the main groups is definately worth a punt

The prices are becoming tempting but i still prefer my P38 to be honest, maybe i'll fancy a change some time in the future Would leave it until the rovacom software and a source of parts beyond the dealership are on tap regardless

Good luck with it!

Autologic already has the software for the L322,but i can never see them being D.I.Yable the electronics are far more involved than the P38.When you consider how long the L322 has kept its value then i cant see the parts prices getting cheaper.Remember its parts where manufacturers make there money.

Of course but they havent exactly reduced prices for other models either!

Just noticed paddocks are now starting to list L322 parts, must be a very recent addition...

Wont be long before they have the full range of parts

My point was could you do basic servicing(oils, filters etc) and simple repairs or are they ridiculousy complex or need plugging into a computer every time you want to do anything?
