Freelander Sport - Fair prices for brake pads & disks??!
Discussion
Hi,
I have a problem with my brakes this morning. One wheel is grinding really badly (even when I'm not braking) and the dealership have told me it's probably the disks and pads.
The price I've been quoted is £236 plus VAT.... £277.30! Seems a lot to a me. Can anyone tell me if this is a fair price or not?

If you got the parts from Famous Four they would be about £135 for both axles. Then about an hours labour. Which at a dealership could be £80/ hour so not far off!
It could also be a bearing which is not a big job or an expensive part.
Try a local independant garage. This is not a complex job and will not appear on your service history so no need to pay over the odds. It is really a job which can be done at home with a socket set, jack, wire brush, hammer, pliers, flat head screwdriver and a pot of copper grease.
