Hi all, new to this forum and could really do with some advice.

On Monday I am spending the day travelling around looking at a few 1990/91 Rangies.

One in particular has caught my eye which is a '91 Vogue SE auto with a 2.8 Diahatsu td transplant.

The car has all the receipts etc from the work carried out and has been done professionally. Good idea or not ?

Also what should I be wary of and look for.

Is a 3.9 V8 a better option (reliable?)

Sorry, forgot to mention the vehicle is going to be primarily used for towing.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Cheers.

personnaly i wouldnt go for a diesel transplant. go for a proper range rover diesel or the v8. Both make very good tow cars!

Just spoken to a guy that is selling one, all seems OK but apparently it cuts out after a long run and needs to wait 5-10 mins before it starts again. Serious or does it just need setting up correctly? (V8 petrol)

That was the symptoms I had when my ignition amplifier gave out. Not to expensive to replace and only takes minutes. If you can take someone with you who can prove that that is the fault then you could bargain a good deal.

Is this easily fixable or a major problem ?

bounce She's all mine !! A black 1991 Vogue SE V8 bounce

Standard for now apart from a K&N panel filter, and oh how good does that V8 sound!!

Enjoyed every minute of the 3 hour drive home and managed around 20 MPG, how does that work? I was expecting more like 13 MPG. driving
