I went and had a look at a lovely TD6 Vogue at the weekend, really nice car and I'm seriously thinking about getting it however, I just called my insurance for a quote and they have quoted me £1106 a year, that seems quite a bit to me? What are other people paying?

Also can anyone tell me if there is anything I should look out for on the TD6? The car is a 53 plate with 50,000 miles and £32000 including 2 years VIP left on it, does that sound about right?

Thanks

£32000 sounds a little on the high side but not hugely, its slightly newer but has higher milage than some 02/52 reg ones personally i would reckon it should be more like £28000, did you drive it much?, having done a fair few miles in the TD6 my brother had we both agreed a V8 would be a better option even if it meant LPG, but then i supose youve got that lovely T350 to satisfy for going fast.

Too much, sub £30k would be more realistic. There are plenty out their, but would recommend the 4.4ltr

I had a quote from Privelege. A TD6 SE with 30K on the clock valued at £30K was £250 fully comp. There would have been an extra fee for protected no claims and guaranteed hire car.

Thanks for the replies, the car is at a dealers so hence price being on the high side, I think I'm going to wait a few weeks and see if its still there and maybe do a deal? Although I will be having a look around at anything else. I don't really want to go for the 4.4 as I will be driving it as my main car and don't want too bigger fuel bills and I do have the T350 when I want to go fast. I only drove the diesel for about 20mins but felt it had enough power for me and it will be replacing the fourtrack so should be a lot more comfortable.

CatherineJ, I don't think I'll get a quote that low but I'll give it a go.

Well I got an insurance quote for a Vogue diesel & Petrol £570 fully comp, with protected no claims. Can't think why Mannings were so expensive?

Is there much difference with the running of a petrol to diesel? A dealer told me you get about 12-18 mpg out of a petrol and about 18-22mpg from a diesel?

i cant say for the petrol but 20 MPG for the diesel sounds about right to me, i honestly think you should consider a pertol with LPG as the TD6 can be a little slow and noisy after a while.

So do you think I would be better off going for a petrol for about £27k and spending a couple of £k on a LPG conversion? There are a lot more about and a lot cheaper.

Anybody have any opinions on getting a petrol over a diesel? Going to have another look tomorrow

For what its worth i'd go for the V8. You'll get one for about the same as the TD6 inc the conversion then fill up for 39.9p litre at morrisons. What more could you want?

Only problem is you'll lose the spare wheel well but you can just keep a goo can to bodge a puncture to get you home if putting the wheel in the boot bothers you

Good luck!

Try privelege. Even though they are the same company there is always a cost difference between the 2 brands.

I got a price from Directline and they came out at £576 but they wanted a tracker fitted, in the end I went with Tesco for £668 with two named drivers on the policy

Hi,

I'm also looking for a vogue and was thinking about the diesel but have read this and seen LPG mentioned a few times with the 4.4l. As I don't look for LPG, i don't know if its easily available all over and who is good at the convertion?

I'm not after a RR for its speed but some mention that it can be irritatingly slow. Have any of you bought a TD6 and wish you had gone for the petrol?

Also im looking for a private car and am finding it hard to find a good value(plenty of high priced) black/black vehicle. So if any one knows of one as i dont want to buy from trade.

thanks

Hi Bund,

I know you are after Black one, but mine is for sale and it is very nice combo, with all the kit, Warranty and VIP.

I also looked at a TD6 on the same day as my V8 and only got as far as starting the deisel up and said nope its gotta be petrol.

Mine is almost Black! Have to say never seen a Blk/Blk before. Always that 'orrible Parchment (Cream). I think the closest you will get to is Blk with grey interior.

Good luck. You can always come and see my RR if you wish.
