I am a regular in the TVR forum as i have an old S2 TVR but have today bought a 1993 Rangie Vogue LSE for a bit of fun.....as usual i have loads of questions

Where are the best insurance deals to be found ?
Why dont people like the air suspension & is it worth converting to springs ?
What are the 3 buttons for on the air suspension ?
Why is there no belt on my aircon pump ?

Isnt LPG great !!! i filled up for £30

she's a lovely old girl, in blue with most of the electrics working (a/c and cruise not)with quite a good chasis compared to most that i saw. I wasnt looking for a LWB but it was the best condition i could find.

Any thoughts gre=atefully received

I use Adrian Flux for a limited mileage policy, with business use.

I have a P38 which has a slightly different air suspension system, however I'm guessing the buttons you mention are to set the ride height between standard, access and extended.

I think the main reason for changing for coils is reliability. The air suspension has certainly proved to be a big advantage. It's made the car so much more useful than the Disco I was intending to buy, the car can be lowered for loading then it raises again when the engine starts.

I'm guessing the AC belt is missing as there is something wrong with the compressor.

Thanks niva

on the suspension buttons, what is access - is it the picture of the wheel with a cross through it. Should i be driving if i lower the suspension or is it more for loading etc

The top switch with up arrow is to raise suspension. Middle button with X through wheel is the "inhibit" switch used to keep it at or return it to the normal ride height. (the vehicle will lower/raise itself automatically based on road speed or off road use, so think of it as keeping it from moving). The bottom button is to lower. There are 5 ride heights available.

I'd recommend buying an owners manual (ebay is prob cheapest or download of the net) and you'll get all the info you need to use it properly.

Happy motoring

Additional to Churches reply, I think of the inhibit switch for manouvering in places with low roofs. Set the suspension to it's lowest position (I call it Access) then press inhibit. The suspension will then stay at the lowest height, unless the car exceeds a set speed which I believe is 10/12 mph.

If you use the highest postion the car will keep at that height up to 30 mph

Thanks guys

The only thing i can find wrong with her, is she's smoking under full acceleration. I'm hoping its due to the fact she was driven by a disabled grandad for the last few years and spent 3 years in a garage before that.

I dont want to think of the worst case scenario
