I was trying to adjust the hinges on the tailgate of my Disco and one of the bolts sheared off - I'm not getting involved with that, so can anyone recommend a specialist in the North Hampshire area? I live not far from Basingstoke, are there any good people in the area?

Can you not use stud extractors? Or weld a nut on and try winding it out that way?

Can't get my stud extractor onto it through the aperture available in the door frame. As for getting tjhe nozzle of my MIG through.......

Good shout Bluespanner but to be honest, having wrestled with the damn thing patience has run out on this one and I'm prepared to pay for a couple of hours labour

Just need a good place to take the damn thing!

Oh well.

I wonder if your local garage is up to it?

Am I making a mountain out of a molehill then? You make it sound like I'm giving in too easily. I can't get a MIG in there at the same time as something to hold the nut while I weld. My extractor won't fit through the available opening. Those were the only options I could think of......open to any other ideas though.

My local garage is pretty good, but the tailgate needs realigning, the hinge bolts having loosened and allowed it to move. Thought that might be better done at a specialist, especially if new hinges are needed ans they will likely have them in stock.
