I'm getting a bit fed up (already!) with the incredibly revvy engine my 200tdi has become since putting a janspeed pipe, k+n and a thorough clean of the intercooler. As I intend to put an uprated intercooler in it very soon is it worth putting the disco transfer gears into my box to alter the gearing and drop the revs or go for the GKN overdrive?<- Or maybe both . Anyone out there got any experience of this on a 110CSW 200tdi?

Cheers Matt

The overdrive is a waste of money IMO, for what it does.

I would go for the Disco gears option - remember this will leave low unchanged.

So doing this will drop the acceleration times! and give me a usable first gear and lower the revs for cruising speeds. Any disadvantages?

probably easier and quicker just to swap the entire transfer box isn't it? - I guess it's a LT230, and would be guessing even more at 1.6 ratio.
you see LT230 on ebay quite regulary if you know how to search for them.
