Hi There

Sorry, but I bet this is a frequently asked question - I am new to this forum

Just purchased a 1956 series one and would like to fit an overdrive. Will any Land Rover one fit or are they different across the series please?

Thanks

Apparently you can buy an add-on to the gearbox which increases the ratio of the final drive in high range but keeps the low range the same. These are only about £250 so probably cheaper than fitting an overdrive. I've seen them in the Land Rover Owner International magazine but guess they would be available elsewhere.

All the overdrives in LRO are £250, it seems to be a standard rate.

Yes, series 1, 2 and 3 overdrives are the same.
