I've got an old, as in 1987, Land Rover and the paintwork is badly oxidised.

Clearly I'm not going to lavish my Zymol Destiny on it but I'd like to get it back a bit, any ideas?

My father swears he used Vim on a car in about 1963 and it worked but there surely must be something wwhich would get of the worst of the oxidisation.

Cheers

T-Cut is good for most oxidised paints. If its very severe then go down to your local motor factors or car paint shop and buy some "G3" compound. This is what bodyshops use when mopping a car with dull paintwork or to remove blemishes from paintwork.

Give the G3 a try as it'll take of quite a bit of paint so go easy on it and use water to start with. Or if it needs more taking off use it neat. Then use a decent polish after to keep it shiny

G3 gets my vote. I peeled those god damn crap County stickers off the side of my landy and a bit of G3 with the help of an electric polisher and LOTS of H2O brought the faded paint up a treat.

I've spoken to Farecla who make the compounds and they recommend G4.

Got some on order together with an electric polisher so I'll let you know.

Thanks for the help guys.
