We've just had a day's off-road with a chap called Adam in a disused quarry at Wormersley, W Yorks.
Absolutely amazing what theses vehicles can acheive!
There were some places I wouldn't dare walk let along take a 4x4 there.
Damn fine day out.
FG and FGes.

It's a good fun truck, handy for lugging stuff. We have the soft-top so it's fun in the summer.
We don't do any off-roading in it though, but Adam on the 4x4 course said they are not too bad at that. (Not as good as a real 4x4 Landie)
One warning though, I'd avoid the k-series 1.8 petrol, they can suffer frequent head gasket failures, ours has!. Go for the V6 or the diesel.
Many years ago, before we bought our first Landie, we were on a walking holiday on the Isle of Skye, and doing a walk over a *very* rough path (I can't recall the exact place, but it's opposite The Bad Step, on Iain Anderson's estate). As we scrambled over the boulders, I could hear the "tick, tick, tick" of a diesel engine at low revs, which got steadily louder, until we were overtaken by two blokes in an elderly LR tilt with, of all things, a set of patio doors in the back. We nodded good afternoon and they vanished into the distance. I was gobsmacked how well the LR climbed over the rocks...
