Real world running costs TD6 SE/HSE
Discussion
I`m sure users of this forum have had all this before , so I apologise in advance .
I have a hankering to upgrade our current family car to a 03/04 plate TD6 Range Rover (probably SE spec) . I`ve got the invite to a Land Rover day near Skipton next month and before I get too carried away , I`d appreciate some real facts and figures about the running costs over a year (10,000 miles) . Presumably most of these cars are still covered by the ViP service arrangement although any advice would be most welcome .
Thank you . MV .
I think VIP was only an option, alot dont have it. Steer clear of non TD6 Vogues as they're quite hard to shift on when you come to sell.
As for running costs, mine seems to average around 23-24mpg with hard driving (with a DMS ECU upgrade). My first service bill came to £520 but that included new front brake pads (they only last a year/12000 miles!)

MPG is 23.3, issues that appear frequently are front brake, steering columns collapse (RR changed mine outside of the warranty FOC) they can go through batteries, although mine is still on the original.
Total cost for the past year for my 06/02 was £565 (serviced by specialist, not main dealer). Oil and filters changed twice, plus full service and Fr pads once. One Fr Tyre included at £116.
This year not looking so good. Starter motor £180 plus VAT and fitting today!
All in it's an inexpensive car.
