Now I've asked this on the LROI site and no-one has replied in a week which is unusual:-

Father-in -Law has a Disco I and as usual the tailgate has dropped and the door keeps jamming. It seems to be the door casing itself where the hinges mount (obviously!) and this appears to be fairly weak? has anyone experience of the best way to lift the door and keep it there or do I just use the old 3 x 2 and heave ho, then wait for it to drop again?

there a MAHOOSIVE! bottom hinge on the
that appears to have come off a stable door.

It bolts onto the door frame easilly, but then the long bit goes into the door itself, about
a foot, and is bolted throught the bottom inside edge.

If you think it might be this, and you fancy having a DIY attempt.

remove door trim+spare wheel, and fit it with the door about a quarter way open

What model is this one, I believe there was a recall on series ones for this problem.

It was the pin on ours, that just sheared off without warning, dropping the door in the first place,
and you don't seem able to simply replace it unfortunately

hence the gate hinge
