Range Rover Performance Improvement

Just bought a Range Rover Vogue 1997. Having read a few threads on here I see a few PHers have tweaked their cars for a bit better performance. Now I didn't buy the car for it's sports car like qualities (the 20 year old 911 Targa sees to that)but I would be interested in looking at different ways of giving it some more oomph and better road manners. It's a toss up between that and DVD's in the back for the kids.

Is it a V8 or a Diesel?

Fairly cheap to tweak the diesel, but with the V8 you are looking at a couple of grand in outlay to rebuild and enhance. Probably best to wait until it needs a new engine.

With a diesel you can chip it and get a bigger intercooler for not too serious money. Makes a whole lot of difference

It's a 4.6 V8, I would have thought the tuning possibilities were pretty good IMHO

Do what I did, bin the Rover engine, Drop a 5.7 chevy engine in and then add a pair of turbos for good measure

mine had a 70k conversion by je engineering. supercharged etc. Want to buy my engine???
