I have a Landrover 90 turbo. Its the original carap engine that should have packed up by now. (would love a 200 or 300tdi). Also got my hands on an A reg Ranger rover 3.5 auto. Do the Range axles fit? are they worth swapping over? It would mean I could get RR alloys for my old 90. Comments please....

A. you get big calipers on the front, which helps, and
B. You get rid of the shit drums and get discs on the back aswell.
essentially they just bolt straight on, but on the rangerover rear axle the offside damper mount may be behind the axle (the nearside mount is infront of the axle.)
I think on your 90 both dampers mount infront of the axle.
Dont let this put you off though(if im right) because the differance in braking is immense.

you mean my 90's has brakes! I thought the hole in the floor was so you could slow it down with your feet!

I will have a look at doing the swap, thanks...just thought perhaps the diff ratios will be high?

The diff datios are the same - 3.5:1. Its series motors that are different, with 4.7:1.
Good luck with the conversion!

I had an early 90 csw complete with 2.25 5 bearing engine, pas, 5 speed box carpet the lot....

now it wasnt very fast but after a little fettle the original brakes were very good, even with the rear drums...

having said that the swap to disks alround should improve things
