Firtly, my sincere apologies for the following!

I have absolutely knowledge(I mean NONE!)when it comes to Range Rovers. I'm actually coming to you from the BMW Forum for some help and advice.

I'm currently selling a BMW and have been offered the following in part-exchange and just wanted to pick some expert brains as to what it's value might be? I never trust things like 'Parker's' as in my experience with BMWs the values quoted often do not stand-up well to the real world...both up and down! Additionally, there don't seem to be many equivalents up for sale on Autotrader at present.

The vehicle is the following (hope this is right as most of it means nothing to me...sorry!)

Range Rover Vogue 4.6 2002 (Last of 'Old Shape' apparently?)
Leather
Sat Nav
18,000 miles
HR Owen SH: 1st Service at 7k miles; '24k Service' at 12K miles and '36K Service' at 15K miles...if that makes sense?

What would you reckon something like this is worth?

Many thanks for any help.

Regards

It sounds like a very nice car. Colour has a lot to do with the resale of these, black being best. I'm no expert but have just traded my mint 2001 4.0. for £10,750. Many only offered me £9000 for it (CAP Guide pricing). As a sale of the forcourt I would imagine it woul be about £12k (with 6 month warranty)

4.6's fetch more money, but are also much more troublesome, I would hazzard a trade in price of about £12k and on the lot for about £14k-15kH

Just my guess thats all.

have alook on the pistonheads classified section, there are some huge differences in prices for very similar vehicles.

Many thanks for the reply!

The colour is Epsom Green...dark green metallic apparently...don't know if that's a desirable colour or not?

Thanks again!

Funny mine was an Epsom Green, not the 'in' colour evidently, but I think it looks great on the P38.

Thanks!

Bumpers are colour coded. The interior is apparently 'Stone Beige piped with green'. Looks like a very light colour to me in the pics sent.

The wheels are a sort of 'double' three pronged affair in alloy with a small 'Land Rover' logo in the middle. As said,I know nothing about these cars but they look a bit small to me against the size of the rest of the car...but is this normal. Sorry I don't know what the size is.

If the trade price really is only £12K then it's not worth it against the BM I'm selling.

Once again, many thanks for all the advice.

Thanks all...at £15-18K that makes it a better trade against my BMW.

Just one last question (sorry!)...in Range Rover circles is this actually a desirable model? I wouldn't be keeping it myself so I wouldn't what to get left 'high and dry' with a model of the car that people don't want.

I live in Shropshire...very 'rural' county. I was imagining that this type of car might appeal locally to the 'Hunting, Fishing and Shooting' types...especially in that colour. Or am I just imagining!?

Which book, Glasses? they tend to be way too generous, CAP has the more realitstic prices.

Be wary as these things, as the 4.6 (runs a lot hotter than the 4.0) when they go wrong are v expensive to fix, namely air-con (£1500) and air suspension (£2500) which tends to wear out after 5 years. Make sure everything works on the car otherwise it's not worth a lot.

Other than that she is a great machine.

The part that tends to go in the air suspension is the compressor piston. Just had mine done.About £30 for the part and a few hours labour.
