Question about the 4.4 V8 Range Rover?
Discussion
Hi there,
Could anybody tell me please, whether the Range Rover (2002 onward 4.4 V8 models) have variable valve timing? Is this engine basically the one found in the X5 or was the engine design modified specifically for the Range Rover application?
There's nothing mentioned about VVT on Land Rover's website either.
Any comments on the subject are much appreciated
Thanks
James

no vvt and its a bmw unit
They have BMW engines up to and including MY2005, the Jag derived engines came in for MY2006.
The BMW lump has a variable intake valve timing system known as Variable Valve Control (VCC). Both camshafts are adjusted simultaneously within 20 degrees of the camshafts rotational axis.
Bit hard to explain without a diagram and I can't work out how to copy the PDF workshop manual into here :-)
