Hello,
I'd be grateful for any help in sorting a problem with my 88" Series One; it accelerates well and starts first time but at part throttle it runs on Kangaroo petrol. The ignition system is bang on and the mixture appears to be OK (by colourtune and spark plug nose colour). Any suggestions?

Carburetter is a Solex 32PBI, rebuilt in spring, car not used much (about once a week) as it only passed it's MoT in October and I've been busy solving other problems since. I recently fitted a new fuel lift pump. There is no dirt in the float bowl, accelerator pump or other fuel passages. Haynes manual gives very breif instructions on setting up the carburetters.

cheers
Matt

Could it be the vacuum pipe thingy (attached to the solex). Mine had a hole in it which caused the type of complaints you have mentioned.
