1994 discovery

hi,

this maybe a silly question,
the discovery on a 1995 plate is slightly different at the front,(head lights a little larger and the grille ) to the 1994 discovery,
would it be possible to buy the front head lights and grille from a 1995 and fit it to the older style 1994 discovery?

would it fit?

also does the 1994 discoverys come standard with any kind of alarm system or immobiliser?

yep you can buy the lights and grill. cheap second hand(£90) about 500m new from simmionites(sp).
no imobaliser as standard.

The conversion kit is available for around 400 pounds, the suppliers name is Simonites ( I think ) , saw it in one of the LR mags.Hope this helps.

I think the pressings behind the headlights are different. but you could probably make it fit with a little ingenuity.
But if its just more lighting power youre after, fit some 100w bulbs or spots and leave the 200 series front on.

The change over was in 94 (L) between the 200 series and the 95 model year 300 series.

there are quite a few differences inc seats, dash, front & rear lights, and rear suspension. not to mention the 200/300 tdi engine and change from 3.5 efi to 3.9efi


my wifes car is a L 94 (95 model year) 3.9 efi and when we first had it i had a game insuring it as 94 only lists 3.5 !!!

the 95 model does have an alarm/ imobaliser factory fitted.

one thing to take care of is the alarm plipers as land rover dont have any more !!! so if you loose / break them its new alarm/imob !!!
