Don't believe all the hype about pricing remaining high. They do hold their money pretty well but £15k+ for a 7 year old Defender is excessive. They may be advertised at that price but I doubt they make anywhere near that in the end. Negotiate hard.

This site will give a fair bit of info

Thanks guys, not being one to mess about, I've bought it, well under £15k too.

One Owner, 17000 Miles - well Chuffed !

Any advice on the best sounding exhaust system as that'll be my first job !

Cheers

There are 3 main suppliers of the sports exhaust; SS, Janspeed and 1 other that has slipped my mind for the moment. I had a SS on my V8 90 and I think it was about £400 + fitting. The fitting is evidently a pain in the ass so best left to someone with a lift.

I thought mine sounded good until I heard a 535i touring with an exhaust custom made by Powerspeed near Ashford. The sound was stunning so if you have a local exhaust fabricator you'll get a better job which will fit properly. Don't know how much they would charge though but worth getting a quote.

I can't remember if the V8 50th has Cats. My old 90 didn't so if it has that will add to the cost.
