Hi there, Jumped over from the TVR forums, but i have a 96 P38 2.5 DSE as well. Since i've had the vehicle i've noticed that when the box changes up from 3rd to 4th gear theres a lurch in the change. It seems like the gear box is taking its time selecting the gear and the engine has time to rev, then is caught again when the gear is selected, resulting in a lurch. Any ideas??? also had a few 'Gearbox Fault' messages thrown up, particularly when the kick down has been activated. It seems to get all confused and throws a wobbler, and puts up a fault message which is corrected when the ignition is switched off. Anybody got any ideas, they would be greatfully received. tim.

Snap I'm also from the TVR section with a P38 DSE auto. Yes mine also slurs the change from 3rd to 4th. It's not something I've had a chance to investigate yet. However I believe there is a lag between 4th engaging and the torque convertor lock-up engaging. No gearbox faults reporting though. As I'm working at the engineering centre this week and I'll probably have the old girl with me this week, I'll try to investigate.

Ok pal, that would be useful if you could let me know if you find anything, thankyou. I'm usually found on the Cerbera or the speed six forums. At least i'm not the only one with this trait, makes me think it might be a normal-ish quirk with the gearbox as it 'gets on a bit'. I have taken it to the really helpfull people at Landrover, all i got was 'if theres a fault the car will tell you', but it forgot to tell me when the air suspension compressor gave up. Hey ho, thought i had enough games with the TVR!! Must be a glutten for punishment or something. Tim.

Sorry last week went a bit hectic so I didn't managed to enquire. I'll try to sort it this week as I'm interested in what mine's doing.
