Military Land Rover
Discussion
Deep pockets sums it up nicely.
On the face of it, whilst they look 'cheap', you have to bear in mind that they're as basic as a very basic thing... Comfort was not an option. They're also 24v, so to put them to civilian spec requires swapping out most of the electrical system.
However, done well, they are fun cars to mooch about in.

There are about to be a lot more on the market so I wouldn't rush into anything.
They are normally well maintained in service but used hard and driven without much care or mechanical sympathy. I would personally avoid anything deployed on Telic/Herrick and find a nice SW used on a UK RAF or RN base, unless you are particularly set on the old warhorse aesthetic.
Also worth bearing in mind that a military V5 can cause problems overseas if you intend to do any foreign travel in it. For UK use obviously not an issue.
