An Alternative to the 5.0 V8 D4?

Like a lot of these big car/(relatively) small engine combos I suspect it's slower but no less thirsty. But yes, a new one for me too.

I also didn't know they offered that in the D4 and with the 8Sp box as well.

That is a still a lot of money for quite an old platform now.

The fuel consumption is still going to be bad. Like mid teens bad. That engine struggles to hit 20mpg in the D5 and that is lighter and more aerodynamic too.

You can get that engine in the RRS and D5 and both are fairly rare on the used market, especially if you compare them to the diesels.

If memory serves, these are the 5.0V8 with a couple of cylinder lopped off, so you'd want the chains and guides done.
