As per the title, I m on to my 3rd 90 hardtop and really love them as a daily drive.

First one was a d200 - loved it but was a bit basic.
Then a d250 a well specced and again lovely car but needed to sell for tax reasons.
NowI into the d350 hardtop. So far loving it but would like to do some simple mods.

Any thoughts on these please:

Removal of bulkhead - anybody done this and which kit did you use?
Swapping out 22s for 20s - am I nuts, I would keep the 22s and could swap them back later?
Body protection kit, with the wheel arch and chequer plate to rear corners, only problem is I m worried the matt plastic will make it look cheap?
Bonnet and side panels in black gloss PPF?

Here s the car now:

I think the bulkhead can be removed with a TX50 and some patience.

Remove the 22” wheels and get some nice 20” with decent all terrains.

I’d personally add some of the explorer kit as I like them with the rack, snorkel etc.
I’m even a fan of the urban light pods but not the rest of their kit.

The colour is nice though.

Thanks, I really love the colour and I reckon it will be popular with new buyers, not even a cost uplift, like carpathian was which is a plus.
I’ve seen one in the woolstone side by side to mine with satin PPF and imho I prefer the gloss.

Agreed re the 20 wheels and knobbly tyres.
I can get them cheap on eBay but not sure whether selling the 22 s will be financial suicide or if I would be better off keeping them ?

Re the bulkhead, I still don t know if it will affect the rigidity of the sides but I somehow doubt it because the hardtop, unless I m wrong seems to be a car with the rear seats removed and the same bodywork/frame. If I know it will not affect it I will 100 percent t do it and the kits are not so expensive to tidy up the lower area behind the seats.

Not sure on the explorer kit as the rack raises the height and I sometimes go to jobs in central London where underground parking and the head height is tight.

Wish I could have kept the d250 and modded that but cost to insure with a new policy would have been too much.

I don’t believe the bulkhead gives any structural integrity, it’s just to stop stuff sliding forward and to meet commercial requirements.

I’d keep them in the garage if you don’t fancy selling them on.
But someone will likely buy them with the new tyres on.

I've explored the bulkhead delete options and it seems that the one kit that fits the defender 90, is out of stock.

Seems like ill need to be patient, not something that Im very good at though.

In the meantime, I'm considering fitting a light bar, this is also turning out to be a bit of a minefield, Urban sell them but they are silly money, I'm expecting they would be good quality and last but then there are people selling em on eBay for peanuts, which i expect will be the opposite and of the spectrum.

Anybody had one fitted or fitted one themselves, id be interested in their opinions?
