What do we know about this release? Is it still expected this year or next? Given the Defender moving into the out-doorsy family spot previously dominated by the D3/4, where are LR planning on fitting in the D6? The D5 was a bit of a flop (blobby exterior, and awful interior), do you think we might see a return to a bit of practicality (split tailgate, flat floor, etc.)? Can LR (do they want to?) replicate the sweet-spot of the L319?

There has been talk of the Road Rover for a while now, which is basically a Audi A6 All Road type car and I do wonder if that is what will happen to the Discovery....or we could end up with a Mitsubishi Delcia (Also rumored) . However, my view is that Land Rover will not do that as its just too left field. Even Mitsubishi struggled to sell significant numbers of that car.

One thing that is certain is the D5 will probably end up with the same hybrid tech that the latest RRS is running which can do 50-70 miles on a charge and my guess is they will only seek to improve that even more.

There’s been rumours of a road rover for years.
Isn’t that what Jaguar are supposed to be for?
Saloons, estates and the sports cars.
Land Rover were for the 4x4s.

Although Jaguar seem to be doing everything possible to kill themselves so god knows.

The D6 will likely continue the ability to seat 7, tow 3.5 tons and have decent off road ability.

Hopefully it goes more D3/4 way but then again.
The new Defender has to a point, taken that route.

I can see the Road Rover coming in Land Rover form and certainly not Jag....Mainly because there is considerably more brand equity in Land Rover than Jaguar.

Jaguar's new EV will just be too little and too late and my guess is that it will be killed off and sold to the Chinese. In my view they should have done it years ago.

I really wanted to love the D5, alas it just wasn't to be.

Road rover was supposed to have launched in 2019 according to Autocar… hehe

Will never happen. Better chance of JLR giving me a free new engine for my D4.

I do worry for Jaguar.

They went from this.

Which was imho a very good advert.

To that horrible advert recently.
They do need to sit down and have a good long think as I can’t see them surviving if they don’t.

I don’t mind the D5 now.
Ive said it many times, it’s a car that’s very colour and wheel dependent.
A plain colour and tiny wheels doesn’t work on it.
Personally, Black, white, red, dark blue and grey with black pack, 22” wheels and roof rails makes it better.
D300 engine though.

Yeah 22" wheels, just what every family 4x4 needs!
