Has anyone got any experience of leaks with Disco5?

I bought my 21-plate MY2022 from Rockar in Canary Wharf about 11months ago. A lovely specced car with 29k on the clock when I got it. On collection day I noticed the carpet mats were wet. I called this out to the Handover Agent and he put it down to "overzealous Valeter". However, whilst driving home I got a strange noise from the windscreen >60mph, carpet mats never dried out and a host of other niggles. After waiting a long time for parts to come in, the car went in to the dealer in March this year and spent 8wks there having various bits seen to. In amongst that, resealing the windscreen which dealt with the wind noise.

However, over the summer whilst cleaning it and after a period of rain, I lifted the rubber mats in the passenger side to find saturated carpets (particularly in the front - to a lesser degree the rear). I complained to the dealer and was stonewalled. I dried the car out whilst in 40C in France and all seemed well again until mid-Sept. Another bout of rain and wet footwells. Another email to the dealer - stonewalled. An email to the Senior Management Team - stonewalled. An email to their Complaints Dept - stonewalled. I now have JLR Finance investigating but they think it's difficult to challenge given it's been 11months since I bought it. However, I have an audit trail of emails going back to the day after I collected it, citing issues with wet carpet mats.

I love the car - it's the perfect family vehicle for us with our 3 kids and long journeys we do. I would like to get it fixed but don't see I should be out of pocket in doing so.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? Ill-fitting windscreen? I have a pano roof but it's fixed and don't think there are roof drains which could be blocked. I've checked the door seals but doesn't appear to be compromised in any way.

Given how much water is in the carpet, I'm now worried about mould spores and my kids health.

Any help gratefully received.

A mate had one and the water leaked through the screen into the electrics
the car went back to LR and was part exchanged for a new defender.
The damage was extensive IIRC

Yeovil LR was the dealer.

A friend of mine has just had the same problem for a second time. Unfortunately the windscreen was damaged by a flying rock…. so autoglass replaced it with a non JLR screen and that’s solved the issue. Apparently it’s a common fault.

Its been a known fault since the D5 launched in 2017. I must confess I thought that later ones had alternate sealing methods and therefor didn't leak.

The selling dealer clearly knows that its a common fault and just tried to fob you off with 'enthusiastic valeting'

I doubt the dealer will do anything. Try your local LR dealer as some do get the screens replaced under good will (No guarantee)

Failing that, try AutoGlass as y guess is, they will have seen theior fair share of D5s now, as its been an issue since launch.

Once again, LR fail to make a car watertight....I literally don't know how they manage it. What's the point of selling the wading feature when the water comes in from the windscreen!

My wife's 2018 Disco had this issue straight after a main dealer service. The same dealer initially diagnosed the issue as a leak from windscreen rubber seals. They duly stripped the cabin, dried it out and then put it back together with new seals. Upon testing they found the issue remained. Second diagnosis was a delaminating windscreen, which seems to be a common issue. They replaced the windscreen, which crucially was the original one, and it solved the issue. The bill was going to be chunky for all of the lanour involved. To be fair to the service rep at the main dealer, he initially got a 80% contribution from JLR. However, we asked him to try again as had the issue been correctly diagnosed in the first place we may well have gone down the route of "harry hammer" and windscreen replacement via insurance. He was successful, possibly due to a combination if things; it being an original screen, our servicing at the dealer as per schedule. So issue sorted at no expense, but lits of inconvenience.
