Hi everyone,

So, Ive got a discovery sport 2016 with 64k on the clock. It has the weirdest issue which up till now 5 mechanics in London have not been able to solve. When the car gets warm coolant RAPIDLY decreases, I mean I'll fill it to the top and coolant will be well below minimum within 10 minutes. Before that, the "Engine oil is critically low" sign comes up also!

So, the car has had a pressure test and holds pressure well, there are no signs of a blown gasket at all, oil cap is clean, coolant doesn't have any oil, there's no smoke. The thermostat seems to be working well and the oil is always full whenever that warning for low oil shows.

All the mechanics I've taken it to can't figure it out, just to be sure I used steel seal but that did nothing also.

This is what the OBD scanner picks up

Clearly there is a piston cooling jet issue, I can't make sense of the coolant pump high voltage short code.

Can anyone help me solve this it's been driving me absolutely crazy!

Thanks

Is the vehicle consuming coolant, as in you have to keep adding more?
Is the car overheating on the temp gauge?

Your OBD fault code reader is probably not showing the full extent of the codes, there may be more codes stored that are not within the OBD standard. Would be worth getting a diagnostic check with a proper Land Rover approved diagnosis system. That said, if you have a coolant loss issue fault codes may not lead you to the issue, but they're worth reading off in case they offer a clue
