Hi all - never owned a RR before and quite like the look of this

Wanted to scratch the LR itch before moving onto a Tesla M3P at some point in the next year or so. Anyway, any opinions on that speciafic car? HSE seems like a decent spec, and the price from a main dealer for warranty purposes seems ok as well (i think!).

Any pointers? Obvisously the reliabilty thing is immediate, but I take that particular 3.0d engine is fairly sorted now and trouble free?

Cheers for any info...

I've got a D300 Defender and it has been faultless, I've had it from new, bought it in March 2023 and have done 28,000 kilometres. Plenty of grunt, quiet and quite economical considering how I have used it.

D300 is a great engine. My Disco 5.5, which I’ve had from new(March 21) is now on 30k miles and I honestly can’t think of a better engine for my needs. But there is one Achilles heel… the tensioner belt uses a plastic pulley which sporadically sts itself. It’s starts with a squeel when cold and gets progressively worse. I’m on my 3rd. It’s so common that Land Rover assist now carry these on their vans and will replace at your home FOC same day, if you’re inside warranty.

I took pics the last time mine went…

Do not, under any circumstances, run a Land Rover product without a LR warranty, else stuff like this will bite you in the ass.

I have a 71-plate version with 32k miles. Picked up at beginning of May as Approved Used. It's started squeaking like hell when cold (it disappears when warm). It's booked into the local main dealer next week for a fix of the belt / pulley, all under Warranty.

Something the tech that came out commented was that for non-Dynamic vehicles they can fix on site with parts from the van, but for the others the Dynamic pump gets in the way so in those instances the car needs to go on a ramp and that means booking it in.

Didn't have these issues on the SDV6 before this (had massive issues with the Dynamic distribution valve block, but that was it), but I'm hopeful about the D300.
