Velar D180 oil dump through air intake
Discussion
Hi folks,
Have tried searching through the forum, without success. Apologies in advance if this has been covered elsewhere.
Our 2019 Velar D180 made a "clunk" noise from the engine whilst driving on Saturday and switched into "limp home" mode. 20 seconds later (whilst we were looking for somewhere to stop) it ground to a halt having dumped all the engine oil onto the road through the air inlet above the front nearside wheel.
The RAC chap has no idea what happened. Our local 4x4 specialist has refilled the engine and it runs, but he's mystified as to why it dumped all its' oil in the first place. He thinks it might be an electrical problem, but that doesn't seem likely given that the problem started with a "clunk".
Has anyone out there in PistonHeads land experienced something similar? If so, could you give me some pointers as to what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
