Defender 2 130 mpg
Discussion
Any owners able to share real world mpg figures on these?
It's on a shortlist of replacements for our current XC90 (a T8 XC90 and Kia EV9 being the others) so have been watching reviews... And I'm sure one said economy of under 30mpg...
That may be enough to rule it out for family wagon duties....

All I can say, having run a 110 D300 for a week when they first came out to see if it could work as a family car, is don't expect much. I'm fairly sure it was around 26/27mpg with mix of town/country/motorway, which we were pretty shocked by. I would imagine the 130 will be even lower mpg. Build quality and material quality were both fairly questionable, especially if you're used to German brands.
Harry M has done a YouTube video of using a 130 for a trip to the alps, which you may find helpful.

If you want a car that's better on fuel than the Defender but still a large 7 seater family car, have you considered the Discovery? Much more luxurious feel to it as a package, as well.
I average 34mpg in my D300 and don't generally hang around or try to drive economically. Best I get is when towing a motorbike and sticking to around 65mph, 42mpg+ for the whole journey.
