2018 - 20 Velar d300, origins of engine and issues

Hello,

I am considering a Velar, 4 or 5 years old. The d300 engine seems to be the reviewers choice, but i've been put of the sdv6 and tdv6 engines before due to the crank shaft historic issues.

I understand the new d300, the inline 6 is a complete new engine, but is the v6 d300 just an sdv6 with all the same issues? If the architecture is the same, are the issues the same or are they less prevalent in a slightly lighter car?
