Trickle Charger on Evoque
Discussion
I keep getting the battery low please start the engine warning every time I open the car. I guess it needs a good run as only two years old and don't have any major trips for a few weeks yet. So plan to connect it to my CTEK trickle charger but not sure if I can just plug it into the boot socket or if it needs to go directly on the battery connection?
Appreciate any help and advice on this one.

It’s not passing huge power over the cables so you can plug it in where you like. Take a look at the gauge of the wiring on the ctek, it’s not big!
During Covid, I made up a 13pin tow ball adapter wired to an old ctek extension, backed right up to my garage and trickle charge through the tow bar socket no worries

Providing any accessory socket you use is live once ignition is off you can get the ctek cigarette lighter accessory and use that.
Failing that you can buy a simple set of leads and connect them permanently to the battery and then plug the ctek in.
Ctek do some adapters with lights to show the state of the battery - green amber red style.
I am assuming accessibility either way isn’t an issue but you can also get extension leads.
Amazon seems to usually be the cheapest.
