Who knows. Looks like a normal RRS in camo to me. For the future of LR, I would hope its a full EV, but I doubt that will be case as they specialise in being years after everyone else.
For the future of LR?? An EV? Really?EVs are causing all manufacturers a world of pain at the moment, do you think LR need more pain? Given LR reliability issues, so you really want to be sitting on top of what is potentially a bomb? Not sure I have the faith in LR to do that tbh given the quality of their craftsmanship.
For clarity I love LR products, I’ve had a few and I still own one. I do not think EV is the solution. The answer to their survival it to sort out their security issues because atm that’s their biggest threat. They then have to sort out quality and craftsmanship. They have a great package to offer and that have huge kerb appeal but the above is costing them customers and I believe will continue to do so.
If they had better reliability then maybe less would be stolen because they say most are stolen for parts/spares. There’s a link there I’m sure.

LT have no choice but to venture into the EV world and from what I can see they are well behind all the other car manufactures. LR don't give a monkeys about the security issue. Its been around since the introduction of keyless start in 2012/13 and the issue is still present now. Doesn't do much to hamper their sales numbers either.
LR may not need pain, but that doesn't stop them from introducing it with every new model.
LR's is firmly rooted in diesel 4x4s with actual 4x4 ability and certainly don't have the resources of the other world brands. The diesel is still very far from the flavour of the month and also, their higher volume products now look woefully out of date (Discovery Sport) compared to what several other companies are producing.
There is a common phrase....Land Rover: Turning men into mechanics since 1948. The quality of the cars they produce is consistent and personally I don't think it will ever change.
However, some of their cars are quite frankly best in class (When they are working). I've owned an 04 D3 HSE, 82 Series 3 and now have a 07 L322 TDV8.
The RR is an amazing machine, but has been a problem child since I bought it and I'm about to throw in the towel on my LR fleet as I'm simply fed up of the headache.
Just to give you an idea of how bad it is. You get regular posts on the FB groups where people celebrate 500 mile journeys in their RR/D3/4.
Don't even get started on the joke that is the 3.0 V6 in the D4. Thats been keeping LR independents in second homes in Cornwall for years. Once day I hope they will turn a corner, but I doubt it.

They’ve already announced full EV RRS and FFRR’s are in development and due out next year.If they’re so far behind, how did they manage to build one of the first fully electric cars with the I-pace?? They are JLR not LR!!!
Anyway, imagine 100% torque over the whole rev range, on a 4x4 offroad! That’ll beat a diesel any day!!
As for reliability, a lot less parts to go wrong on an electric motor vs a V6 diesel!!!!

Also what mug is so critical of the quality of a product and buys multiple examples? aren’t you worried about the fuel tank blowing up?

IPace isn’t a great example either - way behind other EVs that are available.
If Land Rover don’t bring EVs to market v rapidly they will be dead. As someone has said, FFRR and RRS EVs coking to market in 2024. Next generation evoque and discovery sport EVs are on their way. From 2024 a manufacturer not beating 22% EVs will pay a fine on every car (£15k?). That proportion rises to 80% by 2030. Not developing EVs for all you are worth is a suicide plan
And the ipace (had one for three years) has a drivetrain that is vastly superior at least to a 2018 full fat 3.0d Range Rover (I had one for a month when the ipace was being fixed)

The iPace was launched five years ago and last time I checked, LR didn't take those underpinnings and do anything with them. In my view that was a real shame and a missed opportunity. Dingu said:

I am very critical of LR products, but as previously stated, when they are working, they are simply superb. I change my cars every 18 months or so (apart from the Series) and even my Wife is won over on the D3/RR's abilities. If i rocked up with a 2012 D4 HSE, she would be pretty happy with that. However, they are testing cars to look after. Part of that is down to the sheer complexity.
I probably won't go down the D4 route as no one wants a car where you are scared to turn on the handbrake for fear of that screaming its nuts off and you left with a £1500 bill.
I'll probably buy a Porsche instead which will be mega cheap to run
